The COI Office provides oversight for the University's institutional, research, faculty, and staff conflict of interest policies and procedures.
We help to ensure university compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, those include rules in place by federal funding agencies for research and also laws that govern state employment.

Federal Guidance Documents
WVU’s COI policy, as outlined above, must comply with state and federal external requirements. In addition, the university provides operational assistance to guide employees applying for the following types of federal funding in disclosing outside activities, relationships, or interest and managing identified conflicts of interest.
Public Health Service (PHS) regulations outlined in 42 CR 50, Subpart F "Promoting Objectivity in Research" for the reporting of outside activity, review of potential conflicts of interest, and management of conflicts of interest.
